Scientists are influencing the economy

The use of recommendations of the scientists-economists is an important step in the process of reforming the financial system of Ukraine, stated the head of the Sub Department of International Economics Relationships of the I.I. Mechnikov ONU professor Sergei Yakubovsky during the opening of the III International Conference “Economic integration as a factor of improving the standards of living in the CIS countries”.
“Stabilization, lowering interest rates in the banking system of Ukraine this year – is made in compliance with the recommendations of our last-year’s conference, - notes the scientist. – It’s a pity that all the recommendations regarding the system of taxation were disregarded.” According to Sergei Yakubovksy, the conference’s resolutions are sent directly to the regional state administration.
This year the leading economists of Ukraine, Russia, Check Republic and Poland gathered in the Odessa University. Their goal is to use the experience of the Central and Eastern European countries to draw up a program of economic development that will be offered to the Ukrainian government. 20 years ago many of these developed countries were in the same state, in which Ukraine is today. The participants heard 70  reports, of which the most interesting to doctor Yakubovsky were the Analysis of financial systems functioning of the Central and Eastern European countries and a comparison research of the budget and tax systems of CIS countries.
Sergei Yakubovksy is a Doctor of Economics, head of the Sub-Department of International Economic Relations of the Institute of Mathematics, Economics and Mechanics of ONU, member of the reform committee of the Odessa Region governor’s office. The conference is held yearly at the I.I. Mechnikov ONU since 2009.
