How do you teach feelings to a robot? Scientists from 19 countries discussed issues of sensor electronics at ONU.

The international conference “Sensor electronics and micro system technologies” (SEMST-4) gathered over 200 scientists in Odessa. Participants came from 19 countries including states where sensor technologies are successfully introduced – Great Britain, Germany, Japan…
The conference was hosted by I.I. Mechnikov ONU.
The rector of the I.I. Mechnikov Odessa National University, doctor of physics and mathematics Valyntyn Smyntyna proposed that the aim of sensor electronics development should be incorporation of different kinds of sensors in one mechanism.
“A human body consists of millions of sensors, - explains the scientist. – I think sensor electronics will reach a new level when we are able to create at least a prototype of a biologic object called «the human body ».”
The work of the forum was dedicated to up-to-date issues of creating nanosensors, introduction of sensors into the operation of information systems, development of radiation, optical and optoelectronic sensors.
